Standing at the base of the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast, Amicalola Falls State Park offers lodge rooms, cabins, and campsites spread across a heavily wooded mountainside. This is where the Appalachian Trail approach trail to Springer Mountain begins, drawing hikers and weekend visitors alike. The on-site restaurant, hot showers, and year-round operation make it one of the most accessible mountain destinations off the GA-400 corridor. Book early, especially for the lodge and cabins.

Camper Notes

When your group includes people who don't camp, Amicalola is the compromise everyone agrees on. Lodge rooms and cabins with restaurant access, but still deep enough in the mountains to feel like you've gone somewhere. It's also the natural staging point if you're starting an AT section hike from Springer Mountain.
