On the shores of Fontana Lake near Bryson City, Tsali is best known for its mountain biking trail system — one of the most popular in the Southeast. The campground itself has 42 sites with flush toilets, a boat ramp, and lake access, all on paved roads. Tents and RVs both fit, and the setting on the lake is scenic even if you never touch a bike. Reservations required; weekends draw a loyal crowd of riders from spring through fall.

Camper Notes

Tsali is the place where mountain biking and camping overlap. Even if you're not a rider, the Fontana Lake setting and proximity to Bryson City make it a solid base for exploring the western NC side. For bikers, there's nothing else like it in the coverage area.
