The Nantahala Outdoor Center offers bunkhouse and cabin lodging right in the Nantahala Gorge, with river access, a restaurant, and an outfitter on site. Beyond NOC, Bryson City has a deep market of cabin rentals scattered across the surrounding mountains — everything from basic to premium. This is the comfort layer for the Smokies edge: paved access, year-round availability, and options at every price point. Book early for peak season.

Camper Notes

Not everyone on a Smokies trip wants to sleep in a tent. NOC puts you on the river with food and gear within walking distance, and the broader Bryson City cabin market covers everything from budget bunkhouses to high-end mountain retreats. It's the non-camping safety net for the western NC side.
